Instruments...

Music is a big inspiration for my art, it is always playing in the background as I work and my brush dances to the beats and melodies.

I am blessed to live in Miami a city with lots of talented and wonderful musicians, many are good friends of mine, they have trusted me to paint their beloved instruments and I have joyfully agreed every time.
I am grateful for your visit and hope you enjoy what you see.

Please send me a message if you are curious and would like to have your guitar or other instruments painted, you can give me your ideas and I'll turn them into a beautiful work of art that represents what you love.

Music is Life

I painted this piece in 2009  when Gibson was doing Guitartown in Miami, many artists were chosen to paint and decorate this 10' guitars, it was a wonderful experience.

A small version of the 10' guitar I painted for Gibson's Guitartown

Picture
This piece was commissioned by a local Miami musician, he wanted both hands to symbolize fire and water

Another abandoned guitar that was rescued and became a work of art, she is part of a large collection from one of my dear clients

Part of a set of three congas, this one represents Chango, he is the Yoruba orisha of fire

This conga represents Brazil and its natural beaty

For my client family comes first, he wanted me to create something cozy and inviting, I believe that the kitchen is the heart of a home, so this made sense to both of us
Picture
Next to the little kitchen I painted some musicians jamming and having fun

Picture
This conga is part of the set above, my friend is from Puerto Rico and wanted me to incorporate symbols and ocean shapes
Picture
This crazy looking mbira was put together with upcycled materials, the blue part is a wooden wine box, broken lamp pieces, my mother and I hand made the flowers
Picture
This guitar was broken and unfixable, my aunt and I thought it would make a wonderful wall decoration. I designed it with little elements I know she enjoys. It is now hanging in her home in Colombia
Picture
This was a very psychedelic request for a local musician, I had lots of fun working on this piece, my client only had two requests, the Eye of Horus and lots of colorful shapes.
Picture
This is was the third guitar I painted many years ago, a dear friend of mine told me to paint whatever I wanted.
Picture
Friends often give me guitars that are broken so I can decorate them and later find them a home. This piece is mixed media, I combined glass, leaf skeletons and acrylic
Picture
This poor little guitar looked hopeless, parts of it were missing, I thought a small installation would look interesting. There's cigar boxes, broken jewelry pieces, glass beads, leaf skeletons and ceramic elements, I dedicated it to Colombia, my native country. It lives happily in a musician's home
Picture
This guitar was a commission for a client, he requested the sugar skull and the colors, I made a full color sketch to make sure we were on the same page
Picture
This was a special present for my beloved niece, playful and sweet just like her
Picture
For this commission my client's request was lots of blues, the Libra sign, yin yang, a balance scale and a full moon, I had to find a way to put it all together into this design, we were both happy with the results

This commission touched my heart deeply. My client is very young and wanted to dedicate this guitar to his departed uncle, they shared a love for music and the Beatles, the inspiration and reference was John Lennon's Rolls Royce

Believe it or not almost every element on this guitar was a request from my client, she wanted this piece to represent her journey down the rabbit hole, each element symbolizes an important moment in her life.

For this commission my client wanted lots of red and yellow, he also requested the Pitcher plants and the Venus flytrap, he left the rest up to me with complete creative freedom, you notice all the surfaces are covered with art, it hangs on the wall for his viewing pleasure

This is a banjo, unfortunately I don't have pictures of the instrument. Acrylic markers

My dear friend Andy from Hollywood Guitar shop sends me many clients, his was the second guitar I painted, he put these three together and I had to share it, they look good!

This is a set of congas that I painted for a dear friend and talented musician, he wanted them to look like wood and also to represent his afro-cuban faith, these are all sacred symbols
