I painted this piece for my mother years before I started my career as an artist, we had a big scare with her health and she was gone for months from the country getting treatement, I decided that focusing my attention on this piece would help my mental and emotional state a great deal since I couldn't be with her physically, it was challenging, took me months to finish her glazing technique, countless almost transparent layers of paint, tears, smiles, faith, she became my prayer for mom.
It felt great giving her to mom after she returned from her trip healthy and happy to reunite with the rest of her family.
